Royal Mail are marking the 25th anniversary of ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ – the first in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, based on the books by JRR Tolkien. The set of eight 1st class stamps feature montages from all three films, with each stamp celebrating iconic characters: The Hobbits; Gandalf; Arwen; Gimli; Saruman; Aragon; Legolas; and Frodo & Gollum. The stamps also have Royal Mail are marking the 25th anniversary of ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ – the first in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, based on the books by JRR Tolkien. The miniature sheet comprising four stamps, all 1st class, features important places from the films: The Shire Hobbiton; Rivendell; The Gates of Argonath and Mount Doom. The background of the sheet is a map of Middle Earth.
The Gold 500 cover image is framed by a 22ct gold-blocked border and the cover bears a Spellbrook, Bishop’s Stortford handstamp. The cover additionally features a 1st Class stamp from the 2004 The Lord of the Rings issue with an image of a map showing Middle Earth. Numbered limited edition of 500.
